I’ve had a lot of therapy in my life.

Woah 😱 How was THAT for an opening line.

Before you run for the hills because ‘having therapy’ and ‘talking to animals’ in the same place might not sound like an ideal combo, but hear me out. 👂

In those many years of therapy, I learnt a lot about myself – good and bad, I won’t lie 🤷‍♀️

Therapy can go deep, as deep as it needs to in order to dig out the 💩 that’s holding you back.

But there’s one sentence from one psychologist, that always sticks in my mind:

“You can’t love someone if you don’t understand them.”

The fact that we were discussing that my marriage was failing quicker than a drunk teenager arriving at an exam, is beside the point. It was failing.

“You can’t love someone if you don’t understand them.”

Think about that for a second…

How would you define love?

Would you define it as understanding the motivation behind someone’s actions?

Knowing everything about that person enables you to see the big picture and therefore you’re ‘better’ able to love them or love them more completely?

If you don’t understand someone’s actions, can you truly love them? Because how can you love them, if you don’t know what you’re loving?

I could go on and on, it would be a good topic for a debate, wouldn’t it? Do tell me what YOU think in the comments below.

But now think about that in the context of your animals…

If they exhibit a behaviour that you don’t understand, how does that make you feel?

Cut off? Frustrated? Lost?

And how would your relationship with that animal change, if you knew WHY they did ‘that thing’?

Would your eyes be opened? Would your heart grow bigger? Or would you know it’s time to get some training or a behaviourist involved?

THAT is the gift of animal communication…

Knowing what’s going on in your animals head, and heart, so that you can give them their best life.

Because when you understand them completely, you can love them even more than you do now 😊
